The F-150 in question was bought in Colorado Springs in 1993 thirty years ago and has been used for light duty work since 2006. Being the oldest truck, I currently own I have decided to keep it operational.  You can follow it on YouTube here (_Here_is_End).  I need to setup the channel.
There are 3 methods/options

  1. Remove the engine and rebuild it myself. The estimated cost is $1,000.00 in machinist cost and parts.
  2.  Remove the engine and have it rebuilt at my local NAPA. The estimated cost is $1,500.00 in machinist cost and parts.
  3. Tow/transport the truck to the mechanics shop and have it rebuilt. The estimated cost is $3,000.00 in machinist and parts.

I plan to make my decision on my way back home to Alabama tomorrow.

Late entry. I have decided to remove the engine back at the farm and bring it back to my house for a breakdown.  I plan to talk with the nearby NAPA to dicuss the repair.  How much I will out source is still to be determined.  I will give this an update next Sunday.
